Prevention Councils offer opportunities for caregivers to connect with one another, receive support for yourself, and support for your children in a variety of ways, including parent support groups, play groups, and other informational opportunities.

- Parenting support groups: Prevention Councils offer opportunities for caregivers to connect with one another. Topics are often chosen by caregivers or are topics that previous participants requested.
- Playgroups: Prevention Councils hold playgroups for young children to learn through play, while also providing support to caregivers around your child's development.
- Parent Café: Prevention Councils offer opportunities for caregivers to connect with one another through informal, small group, discussion-style sessions.
- Parenting Workshops: Prevention Councils hold special workshops on various topics that are chosen by caregivers, or are topics that previous participants requested.
- 5 Protective Factors for Strengthening Families: Prevention Councils hold training opportunities where parents/caregivers can learn about the 5 Protective Factors that help to strengthen families (Parental Resilience, Social Connections, Concrete Supports, Knowledge of Child Development, Social and Emotional Competence of Children), and everyday actions they can do to strengthen their family. This training is 1 hour.
- Infant Safe Sleep Training: Prevention Councils offer training opportunities for parents/caregivers to learn about Infant Safe Sleep practices and how to ensure a safe sleeping environment for their baby. This training is 1 hour.
- Period of PURPLE Crying Training: Prevention Councils offer training opportunities for parents/caregivers to learn about the Period of PURPLE Crying to help parents/caregivers learn about the frustrating features of typical crying in infants, and strategies for how to navigate this period. This training is 1 hour.
- The Front Porch Project Workshops: Prevention Councils offer Front Porch Project workshops to parents/caregivers and local community members, to help all people become more aware of what they can do to help support children and families in their communities.
